The Whitaker Family Blog: 2012

Wow, the twoddlers are now 2! They have grown so much and grown into some great little people! We love them so much and are so blessed to have them both here and healthy! Our lives will never be the same...in a GREAT way!

This year for Reese and Grant's birthday we had a small pumpkin pickin' party at Eckert's in Belleville. We had a great turn out, even though the weather was a little cool. We had pizza and cookie cake and lots of presents to open. The kids did real well, for the most part. The party was during nap time, so we had a few bits of fussiness, but we made it through to the pumpkin patch and all the kids got a pumpkin.

Reese and Grant did NOT like it when everyone sang Happy Birthday to them! They both cried!

What we are up to at age 2:

Reese-
*Can count to 12 by herself (by pointing at all the Minnie mouse characters on her jams), and with help can count to 20
*Counts her blocks as she puts them together
*Likes to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", "Happy Birthday to you", and "Wheels on the bus"
*Likes to sing along with her favorite shows and most any song she hears
*Likes to point out your belly, nose, eyes and ears
*Can say most any word, and is starting to really put words together and make short sentences \
*Loves to help "cook" and "do the dishes" AKA stand on the chair at the sink and splash in the water
*Favorite Book right now is the Spooky Tree Bernstein Bears book
*Loves babies, her new dress up shoes, boots, slippers, hats and bike helmet, reading books and stealing toys from Grant
*Daddy taught her to say toot, so now she likes to randomly say "mommy tooted, Reesie tooted, or daddy tooted" sometimes its true (with daddy), sometimes its not (especially when she says mommy did it"! hahaha)
*Has gone poo-poo and pee pee in the potty, but not on a regular basis...still in diapers for now.
*Loves Tacos (for every meal, we have to wrap up most meals in a burrito for her)
*Still does not eat any meat except Bacon
*Loves Ice Cream and Bread sticks
*Really likes to help water the plants our front
*Knows her colors

Grant-
*Likes to point out your belly, nose, eyes and ears
*Loves to blow zerberts on mommy's belly
*Loves to run and be chased
*Can say a few words, like puffs, muffin, momma, dad...but usually chooses not to
*He speaks Grantoneese - its his own language
*He loves to help throw things away for us and help us clean up
*Favorite Book right now is the Crayola Colors book
*Loves his cars and trucks, putting on his rain boots, slippers,cowboy hat and bike helmet, reading books and hitting sister with toys
*Likes to brush his teeth
*Likes to follow Sis around and do what she does
*Loves Technology of any kind
*Loves to throw food to the dogs, then fuss when they eat it or follow him around
*Loves Ice cream and Bread sticks, Bacon, applesauce, cereal and Puffs
*Really likes to sit on the front porch and watch the cars drive by
*Can point to the right colors (he just won't tell you the answer), and loves puzzles
*Does not like to sit on the potty for more than 2 seconds...still has not went potty for mommy
