Reese and Grant are a little over 2 1/2 years old not, closer to 3. We have been busy already this summer; BBQ's, Parade's, the zoo, Eckert's petting goats, making our own ice cream and many many more fun things. The kids love to play in the back yard on the swing set. This weekend we were out running through the sprinkler and playing in our little pool. Today, we went to check out the big pool in the neighborhood. We had a GREAT time! It took a little while before they were ready to jump in (the water was a little cold). But once they started playing they had a great time and didnt want to leave! They met a Girl named Brianna and her brother Dakota. Reese told them proudly that her name was Reese Reagan Whitaker! They hope to see them again out by the pool this summer. When I asked her about the pool today, she said "Awesome".
Reese has really taken off in her speech, using many many words and expressions. She also really loves to sing! Her favorites are from the Sound of Music, and some new favorites like "light 'em up, I'm on FIRE"...and "got $20 in my pocket..what what what what". Reese's favorite colors are still Orange and Pink. She is starting to love princesses more, and still LOVES Horses. She loves to try on shoes, and of course do it all "herself OK?" Reese has named my old cabbage patch doll, FRENCH FRY WHITAKER, and one of Micheal's old stuffed puppies, GARBAGE.
Grant likes to dance to those songs she sings, but he doesn't like it when she sings most of the time. He doesn't like it when mommy sings either. Grant loves to count EVERYTHING and ALL the time. When we take walks, he has to stop and read the numbers on every mailbox. His favorite color is Red, but he likes Green and Blue too. His favorite shirt is one with a robot on it, he would wear it everyday if I let him. He also loves his rain boots. He had really gotten particular about his clothes, and wants to pick it out everyday. Grant got his hair cut really short, surprisingly he sat still while daddy took the trimmer to him.
We are still working on the Potty Training...Reese is getting there, but Grant still refuses to go on the potty. He will sit on it, but to my knowledge has never actually gone potty on it. We started a sticker trail, but not sure how well they are doing. Time will tell.
They are both noticing and remembering things...such as the way to the store, or Grandma's house...and they know when you went the wrong way, and they tell you about it.! Reese has also yelled "slow down mom". And she likes to remind us to wear our seat belts, even when we have them on already. Getting along for them can be tough sometimes, especially when they are getting tired. Sometimes they can be playing so nice, then the next instant you hear screaming and fighting and crying. Brother/Sister Rivalry already!
