Reese and Grant are a little over 2 1/2 years old not, closer to 3. We have been busy already this summer; BBQ's, Parade's, the zoo, Eckert's petting goats, making our own ice cream and many many more fun things. The kids love to play in the back yard on the swing set. This weekend we were out running through the sprinkler and playing in our little pool. Today, we went to check out the big pool in the neighborhood. We had a GREAT time! It took a little while before they were ready to jump in (the water was a little cold). But once they started playing they had a great time and didnt want to leave! They met a Girl named Brianna and her brother Dakota. Reese told them proudly that her name was Reese Reagan Whitaker! They hope to see them again out by the pool this summer. When I asked her about the pool today, she said "Awesome".
Reese has really taken off in her speech, using many many words and expressions. She also really loves to sing! Her favorites are from the Sound of Music, and some new favorites like "light 'em up, I'm on FIRE"...and "got $20 in my pocket..what what what what". Reese's favorite colors are still Orange and Pink. She is starting to love princesses more, and still LOVES Horses. She loves to try on shoes, and of course do it all "herself OK?" Reese has named my old cabbage patch doll, FRENCH FRY WHITAKER, and one of Micheal's old stuffed puppies, GARBAGE.
Grant likes to dance to those songs she sings, but he doesn't like it when she sings most of the time. He doesn't like it when mommy sings either. Grant loves to count EVERYTHING and ALL the time. When we take walks, he has to stop and read the numbers on every mailbox. His favorite color is Red, but he likes Green and Blue too. His favorite shirt is one with a robot on it, he would wear it everyday if I let him. He also loves his rain boots. He had really gotten particular about his clothes, and wants to pick it out everyday. Grant got his hair cut really short, surprisingly he sat still while daddy took the trimmer to him.
We are still working on the Potty Training...Reese is getting there, but Grant still refuses to go on the potty. He will sit on it, but to my knowledge has never actually gone potty on it. We started a sticker trail, but not sure how well they are doing. Time will tell.
They are both noticing and remembering things...such as the way to the store, or Grandma's house...and they know when you went the wrong way, and they tell you about it.! Reese has also yelled "slow down mom". And she likes to remind us to wear our seat belts, even when we have them on already. Getting along for them can be tough sometimes, especially when they are getting tired. Sometimes they can be playing so nice, then the next instant you hear screaming and fighting and crying. Brother/Sister Rivalry already!

What u talkin' bout
Reese has been really dramatizing her words lately, and everytime you tell her no, that she can't do soemthing...she says ---- "OOOOOH MAAAAAAN!".
Reese also likes to go through a list of people as she is going to sleep...where's Grandma? where's Nana? ect. I always say sleeping. but then she also likes to throw in some things like, where's Reese's bed. And if I answer sleeping...she says, "No silly, Right Here!"
"Hey....Sexy lady", Reese likes to sing this in Target while Michael is pushing her thru the isles. Then when he brings her by me so he can go down and isle full of ladies, she starts singing the alphabet. Soon as he takes her again, she is singing Hey sexy lady, again!
When you ask Grant something, he has started saying "NNNNNOOOOO" in a very deep grumbly voice as he chuckles and shakes his head. He especially likes saying this when you ask him if he needs his diaper changed. ha. then he will run so you have to chase him.
Grant also likes to take all of his cars to bed with him. He will line them up, sometimes try to hold all of them in his arms(and cry when they fall out), and occassionaly hides them under his pillow.
Grant is doing really well with his alphabets, he can pick out most of the letters on their playmat when you ask him to. Reese does well with this too, but Grant gets them right most. Reese really knows her colors. Both are enjoying painting and coloring on the wall in the bathroom...with the soap paints and crayons of course!
They both enjoy dancing to music videos and are really good about giving each other hugs and kisses...especially at bedtime.

Catching up
Its time to play some catch up!! It has been way way way too long since I last posted about us. Phew, so here we go!!!
November we were busy getting our things packed up and ready to move. We had a great Thanksgiving with both the Phelps and the Whitakers. Went to the Santa Clause Parade in Belleville, Then we headed to Nashville, TN for Mel and Ben's wedding. We had a great time...no nap for anyone on the way down and driving mom and dad crazy once we got there! ha. Almost burned the place down after Reese spilled her water, and I threw a cloth bib to help clean it up, howver the bib landed in the center piece candle and went up in flames...
We did have a good time, the kids loved running up and down the hall, and Reese screamed when we made her leave because she just wanted to dance. But the wedding was wonderful, such a lovely Bride and Groom, was worth the trip.
December we made the big move to the new house in Shiloh. 207 Edbrooke Drive! We cleaned cleaned and cleaned some more, painted moved boxes and cleaned some more. The kids adjusted pretty well, they loved the new house and all of the space. We unpacked and and unpacked and still have some things in boxes, but we are getting there. We had the Whitaker's over for Christmas this year and it was a good time. The kids were not too sure of Santa, and didn't really get that Santa would be bringin them presents, but man did they love opening those presents!
NYE we stayed home with the kids. We made party hats, played dominos, skyped with John and Danielle and ate a big dinner. We grilled steaks and had shrimp with french fries and salad. Phew, it was good. We ended the night watching 'finding nemo'. The kids fell asleep around 10 or so...mommy made it until about 11:30, then she went to bed. Michael stayed up for the new year.
January was calming down a little aroudn the house. I have been experimenting with some cake pops and other desserts. We have been tryinig to get some of the house decorated for our housewarming party.
February so far has been good. Not alot of snow this year, but more than last year. Phil did NOT see his shadow, so they say it shoudl be an early spring. Our Housewarming party was a success. Grant left (too many people) to stay at Grandma's, then later Reese was getting tired and wanted to go to Grandma's too.
Other than that, The kids are adjusting really well. They are going to their own rooms at bed time, however, we are still laying next to them until they fall asleep. We still usually get atleast one visitor in our bed every night....usually Grant. ha. Sometimes they both end up in our bed.
R& G are still in tumbling class, and are doing very well. They love to show Ms. Kim thier moves, and are participating more and more with the class. Reese loves the good bye song and knows all of the kids names in her class. Grant can do the balance beam by himself and is really starting to love the sponge pit.
Grant is saying more simple words more often, but still is not speaking too much. He loves to make funny faces and get you to do the same. Reese on the other hand is repeating everything and coming up wtih her own phrases and guestures. They both love to skype.
Grant is really into his cars. Reese is really into her ponies.
