4 snow days and counting...

So this January has proven to be a cold one and one with lots of snow.  Over the weekend, we got more than a foot of snow...but with the snow, we also got extremely cold temperatures.  it was below zero on Monday and in the single digits again on Tuesday.  Wednesday finally warmed up enough to get out and finish shoveling and let the kids out of the house.  Crazy.  Now as I get yet another call from Parkway of school closing again today, I watch the snow coming down again.  The temps are 25 degrees today, so at least we are not in the single digits.

New Year

Happy New Year, we made it  to  2014!  Michael and I stayed home with the kids.  We ordered sushi and made crab rangoons.  We played some games (ants in the pants & cootie), put some puzzles together and we also watched a movie (Madagascar 3).  The kids of course were in bed before midnight, and I too fell asleep a couple of times.  But Michael and I did make it to midnight awake, though not much after that!  We have all been sick so far this winter...trying to get rid of that bad cough!!!

3 Years

Grant and Reese turned 3, and wow they did it with style.  They had birthday parties for 2 weeks, my kind of birthday!

Reese - still loves Horses, loves to sing and dance, loves to play doctor to animals and toys, loves to be first at everything, and is the smartest in her class.  She is always asking what everything says, and she knows how to spell her name.  She also knows what neighborhood we live in, and what street.

Grant - still loves Robots, likes to dance, but not really sing.  He loves his cars and trucks, still likes to sleep with them.  He loves to torment his sister and try to beat her at everything. He loves to jump and climb.  He loves to run, and is very very fast!  He is very good as putting puzzles together.  He is counting everything, and knows when you don't give him 5 of something.

They both love going to school and learning and playing with their friends.  Mrs Mason and Mrs Steger (or Mrs Tiger, as Reese calls her), enjoy having them in their class.  They are the oldest in the class, and the smartest.  The teachers say that they have to give them extra advanced things to do to keep them busy.

Reese watches out for Grant at school, and told some kid "Don't mess with Grant". haha.  But Grant is also getting better at standing up to other kids too.  He doesn't always give his toys away at school anymore, and one day a kid pushed Reese, and he stood between them and told the boy "NO" while shaking his finger at him!  I am very proud of both of them.  They are growing so fast and really learning a lot of social skills at school.
