The Whitaker Family Blog: Mid July

Well what can we say...its been a busy busy summer. We have been busy at work, busy looking for a new house, busy getting our house ready to sell, busy with weddings, graduations, and other summer parties. Reese and Grant are growing like weeds, both running around like crazy.
Reese is talking up a storm, repeating everything you say. She said "Thank You Mommy" the other day and is really starting to say more phrases. Grant is chatting it up to, we just can't understand a lot of what he says. The other day it sounded like he said "where did dad go?", but he said it so fast, it sounded like he was speaking Chinese.
Both are enjoying the summer, playing at the park, walking on the trails at the park, walking around the neighborhood and at the mall. They have gone swimming a few times and love the water. Reese was apprehensive at first, but once she got in, you couldn't get her out. They have also gone to the new water sprinkler system at the O'fallon park and had a great time!

Reese can count, and has been stacking things and counting as she does. She also knows a lot of colors, her favorite color is Pink she says. She has named one of her dolls at MaMa's house Jennifer.
Reese is still not wanting to go to bed, and we have had a few nights that Grant is following her lead. Most nights we have to put her in the car to get her to fall asleep. Otherwise it sounds like we are cutting her arm off, and who knows what the neighbors think of that each night.

One of Grant's favorite things to do is be chased by someone. He loves to hide and scare you! He can't stand it when someone is sleeping...he thinks he needs to rouse them awake. Grant has been dancing more, but he still seems rather shy about it and doesn't do it if anyone is watching. He has also been reading more and more.

They are really fighting a lot more these days, but then the next minute they are holding hands in the car, or laughing at one another. I sometimes feel like the ring ref in a wrestling match. "NO PUSHING, NO PULLING, NO KICKING NO BITING, NO PINCHING NO HITTING..." This is my mantra some days, I feel like a broken record (for any of you who know what those are?!). So best friends one minute, mortal enemies the next...typical brother/sister I think...Geez!

They love to climb...climb up mommy and daddy, climb up in chairs, climb the stairs...climb climb climb.

Dinner time has been crazy lately. Neither of them want to sit through the whole meal, instead prefer to throw food to the dogs, and put their feet on the table. We are trying to curb these habits as much as possible. OH the terrible two's already??? we still have 3 months to go don't we? LOL.

To wrap things up, its been a crazy summer this year, and I really hope to start updating more often..
